Abandoned Lines and Stations
A miscellaneous collection of photos of disused stations and lines throughout East Anglia. Much has changed. Some of the stations no longer exist having disappeared under housing estates and road improvements. Bridges and other infrastructure are disappearing at an increasing rate, although some of the Victorian architecture has been preserved. References used for dates and information unless otherwise stated, Forgotten Railways (East Anglia) R.S. Joby and A Regional History of The Railways of Great Britain Volume 5 by D.I. Gordon.

Murrow East.
Murrow East Station, Cambridgeshire on the M and GN. The station was located just east of the March to Spalding GN and GE Joint Line where the M and GN crossed on the level. The Murrow West signal box can just about be made out to the left of the tree in the far distance. To the left of the main building is the goods shed and to the right the small building with the chimney is the weighbridge office. Standard M and GN wooden trellis fencing forms the boundary to the property. There is also a rather interesting green painted lamp to the right of the main building, which would appear to be an M and GN type L3. Nothing survives today. Modern housing now occupies the site.
