  • 1029 Doncaster to Cambridge crosses a bleak landscape near Milton Crossing between Waterbeach and Chesterton Junction.  28th November 1978.
  • 47018 passes under Newmarket Road Bridge near Barnwell Junction with the 1036 Liverpool Street to Kings Lynn.  4th November 1978

  • West River Signal Box between Waterbeach and Ely.  18th November 1978
  • Milton Crossing on 28th November 1978. This is a minor road leading down to the River Cam at Baits Bite Lock. In the summer months it is very busy and the crossing keeper must have had a very disruptive life opening and shutting the gates for traffic before the crossing became automatic. AHB.
  • Cambridge North viewed from Mill Road Bridge.  The 1036 Liverpool Street to Kings Lynn is departing behind 37050  18th November 1978
  • Once a very familiar engine in the Cambridge area, 08108 shunts at Chesterton Junction permanent way depot on 27th November 1978. Withdrawn in 1984, 08108 now resides  at Rolvendon on The Kent and East Sussex Railway with its pre TOPS number D3174. After leaving BR it spent time at Dower Wood Grain Mill near Newmarket.

  • 47054 passes Waterbeach with empty coaching stock for the Spalding Flower Festival.  The Western Region stock had been stabled at Cambridge for the day.   12th May 1979

  • Kings Lynn Junction on 31st December 1979. The line to London curves away to the right while the freight spur to Middleton Towers is ahead. The Hunstanton branch diverged to the left.
  • Kings Lynn Junction Box  31st December 1979 showing the track bed of the former Hunstanton Line to the left.
  • 37035 arrives in KIngs Lynn Goods Yard with a mixed freight.  31st December 1979. This area is now a Morrisons Supermarket.
