  • 55015, Tulya, simmers at Kings Cross waiting to depart with the 1405 to York on 4th April 1980. This particular Deltic holds special significance. As a young boy it was the only Deltic not underlined in my Ian Allan locospotters book and it stayed elusive for a long time. D9015 was eventually seen at Huntingdon in 1964 and I had then indeed "copped" the lot.
  • You can almost imagine the unmistakeable Deltic sound as 55015 Tulya departs from Kings Cross with the 1405 to York on 4th April 1980.

  • A bright sunny morning at Biggleswade sees 254007 passing with the 0735 Newcastle to Kings Cross. 7th April 1980.
  • 55007 (Pinza) passes Biggleswade with the 0805 York to Kings Cross. 7th April 1980.
  • Sandy Hills give a supurb view of operations on the ECML. Here the 1400 Kings Cross to Edinburgh is passing Sandy station which can be seen behind the rear power car. 7th April 1980.
  • D9000 waits at Huntingdon on 26th March 1974. In the background, construction work is taking place for the A14 flyover. The goods shed can be seen to the left.
  • Huntingdon on 26th March 1974 with a Northbound class 47 passing the Huntingdon North Number 1 Box. The photo is taken from near the site of Huntingdon East Station on the line to Kettering which passed to the left of the box. To the left of the signal box door was an extended verandah used for exchanging single line tokens.
  • 55007 "Pinza" arrives at Huntingdon with the 1005 Kings Cross to York. 27th May 1979.

  • Photogenic location at Stukeley Bank North of Huntingdon in November 1981. Must have been an ideal place to spend a summers afternoon in the fifties watching A4's and A1's etc.
  • An unknown class 55 heads North at Abbots Ripton, North of Huntingdon in March 1975. Signal Box and semaphores long gone.
