An unknown 31 on a Peterborough to Parkeston Quay working drops the key token for the single line section from Ely Dock Junction at Soham during May 1981. At this point the track becomes double through to Chippenham Junction. Soham Signal Box is no longer in existence at this site. The original station and box were destroyed by an ammunition train exploding during the Second World War.
