  • Padnal Signal Box.  29th January 1980
  • Padnal Signal Box between Ely North Junction and Shippea Hill. The box was destroyed by fire when the stove was left alight. The backdrop is of a typical fenland landscape where the surrounding flat fields are below the level of railways and roads. Photo dated  29th January 1980.
  • Turbostar 170270 at Brandon.  7th May 2009.
  • Brandon Signal Box. 2nd June 2009 The box which was built in 1931 is now out of use.
  • A class 101 is framed by the old footbridge at Brandon. The working is the 1013 Ely to Norwich on 5th September 1980.
  • The 1532 Norwich to Birmimgham New Street  was recorded at Lakenheath with 25248 in charge.  13th August 1981
  • Brandon Signal Box on 31st December 2009. The wheel operated crossing gates  here were replaced by barriers on 21st December 1975, the last wheel operated gates in the Norwich Division of BR.

  • Chivers Occupation Crossing between Shippea Hill and Lakenheath leads to a carrot washing factory. After two serious accidents with lorries, one in 1970 and one on December 3rd 1976 B.R. installed flashing warning lights. 31291 is passing with the 1236 Birmingham New Street to Norwich on 11th August 1979.  <a href="http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/docsummary.php?docID=805">http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/docsummary.php?docID=805</a>
  • The 0832 Summer Saturdays only Derby to Yarmouth passes Shippea Hill behind 25032 and 25023 on 21st July 1979. The signal box appears to have a slight list and is supported by wooden beams on the shrinking fenland soil. In August 2012 the signal box closed and the crossing gates replaced by automatic barriers.
