  • The 1155 from Ipswich rounds the curve away from Oulton Broad South on 25th March 1977. The trackbed of the former goods line to Kirkley and Lowestoft South Side is on the left. The remains of the Oulton Broad South Junction signal box can be seen in the foreground.
  • An 03 class shunter heads a short freight along the Kirkley Goods line from Oulton Broad South Junction. The line at this point ran parallel with Victoria Road. Photo taken from Colville Road.Date and photographer unknown. Probably c1968.
  • 47158 rounds the curve away from Oulton Broad South with the 1650 Liverpool Street to Lowestoft.  18th June 1976.
  • 47158 passes Victoria Road crossing Oulton Broad and approaches the swing bridge with the 1650 Liverpool Street to Lowestoft on 18th June 1976. Today the footbridge has gone along with the manual crossing gates.

  • Oulton Broad Swing Bridge Signal Box, controlled the swing bridge and the signals at Oulton Broad South Station.  31st October 1976
  • Oulton Broad Swing Bridge Signal Box with mile post 116.  Photo Adrian Bond,
  • The 1048 Ipswich to Lowestoft crosses Oulton Broad Swing Bridge on 16th February 1976.
  • 1448 Ipswich to Lowestoft crosses Oulton Broad Swing Bridge with an incorrect destination blind on  28th June 1979. The "Lady of the Lake" pub can be seen to the extreme right.
  • 37049 heads onto the home straight at Oulton Broad Junction with the 0952 Summer Saturdays only Liverpool Street to Lowestoft. Taken with a 200mm lens from the bridge at Normanston Park. Think I was lucky to get the last carriage in the shot. Oulton Broad North station is in the background.  30th August 1980.
  • Taking the dog for a walk across Normanston Park, Lowestoft, I always tried to time it to see the London train and on this particular day I made it. 47009 leaves Oulton Broad Junction with the 1650 Liverpool Street to Lowestoft.  16th June 1976
  • Lowestoft Central on 30th August 1980 with 37088 departing from platform four, in charge of the 1030 Summer Saturdays only to Liverpool Street via the East Suffolk Line. Photo taken with a 200mm lens from the footbridge.
  • Dwarfed by tower cranes on rig construction work, the 0904 from Ipswich approaches it's destination at Lowestoft.  30th August 1980. Photo taken from the footbridge linking Denmark Road and Commercial Road (Iron Bridge). Coke Ovens Junction where the line to Yarmouth diverged is to the right behind the trees. Pictures of the footbridge in the next two photos.
  • The "Iron bridge" carried a footpath over the railway from Denmark Road to Commercial Road, pictured on 29th November 2014, a few weeks away from demolition by Network Rail. ( Bridge removed 24th-25th December 2014) The bridge was closed to pedestrian traffic in May 2005 being deemed unsafe.   • 37050 at Lowestoft (platform 4) ready to depart with the Summer Saturdays only 1035 to Liverpool Street via the East Suffolk Line. 25th June 1977.
  • 37267 arrives at its destination with 1K62, the 1650 from Liverpool Street. The  blue running in board still showing Lowestoft Central to differenciate it from Lowestoft North.  June 1975. Taken with my trusty Instamatic which is all I had at the time.
