  • Pair of class 153 units leaving Woodbridge and traversing Ferry lane Crossing on 1st June 2011. The crossing became automatic on 8th December 1985. To the right of the fence was the Woodbridge Tramway.
  • An unidentified loco passes Ferry Lane Crossing as it arrives at Woodbridge c 1940. To the right is the Melton Tramway which led to the Maltings, Sun Wharf and Gladwells Coal Yard.
  • Woodbridge. After an excellent plate of cod and chips at the Station Café, I ventured onto the down platform to record Turbostar 170202 arriving with the 1307 ex Lowestoft.  31st August 2016.
  • Woodbridge station viewed from the road approach. The building was constructed by the Eastern Union Railway and is of a different design to other stations along the East Suffolk line eg Melton.  I love the interesting round headed sash windows with the red brick surrounds. The station house is home to the Whistle Stop Café , an artisan florist and a taxi company.<br />

  • This building close to Woodbridge station now comprises retail units, but was originally a grain store with railway access through an entrance to the left and a further siding to the left of the building. It has been extensively modernised and transformed from its original state. Image viewed from the down platform.  31st August 2016.

  • The 1048 Ipswich to Lowestoft formed of 2 X 2 car Cravens Units approaches Wickham Market on 28th June 1979. The goods shed on the right was recently demolished for housing. A local campaign to save it was unsuccessful.
  • The 1048 Ipswich to Lowestoft pauses at Wickham Market on 28th June 1979. Note the splendid blue BR Eastern Region running in board.
