  • Lowestoft Central, around the early sixties. Platform one is still in use with what looks like a Class 31, probably on a Yarmouth South Town working. A Class 24 waits in platform two with a Metro Cammel DMU at Platform three. The station has rather more protection from the elements than it has now.
  • Lowestoft Central exterior view on 1st March 1980. The blue BR Eastern Region nameboard remains to this day. To the right of the station building is the old location of KFC much frequented in the mid seventies.
