  • View from the A143 road bridge at Haddiscoe on 29th November 1975. The 1202 Norwich to Lowestoft is approaching the station. The Haddiscoe Yard signal box is no longer with us and I wish I'd got a close up pic while I had the opportunity. The New Cut runs to the left with the River Waveney in the distance. In the middle of the river, in the distance, can be seen the central pillar of the St Olaves Swing Bridge where the Beccles to Yarmouth South Town line once crossed at that point. On the sky line to the right of the pillar the signal box controlling the swing bridge and Haddiscoe High Level station can just be made out.
  • Oulton Broad North on 20th February 1976. The Cravens unit is forming the 1115 Lowestoft to Norwich. Little has changed here to the present day, but the George Borrow pub above the unit no longer serves ale.
  • The 1115 Lowestoft to Norwich passes Oulton Broad North's distant with the adjacent Prospect Road Bridge. 10th January 1976.

  • The 0937 Lowestoft to Norwich at Haddiscoe on 14th June 1977.
  • Breydon Junction near Great Yarmouth on 25th June 1977. The line to the left is the single line to Reedham via Berney Arms, that to the right to Brundall. The flag on the box is presumedly for the queens silver? jubilee in 1977. The box was demolished in April 1978.
  • 03149 on station pilot duty at Yarmouth Vauxhall. 28th February 1976.
  • Somerleyton in September 1974 still has British Railways Eastern Region blue nameboard.
  • 156407 stands at Lowestoft Central on a Norwich working. 11th July 2011
  • Layout at Lowestoft on 11th July 2011. A Norwich train is signalled out from platform 3 whilst the nearer signal is for Ipswich trains from Platform 2. Trains for Yarmouth South Town used platform 1 which is the trackless platform to the right. Curiously although this service closed over 40 years ago the platforms haven't been renumbered the platform numbers starting at 2.
  • Lowestoft central on 12th July 2011. Turbostar 170208 stands at Platform 2, forming the next Ipswich service. A Norwich train is about to depart from platform 3 with 156409. After removal of the overall roof there is now no shelter for passengers.
  • Yarmouth Vauxhall from the end of the platform showing the goods yard/carriage sidings which are now an Asda store. 28th February 1976.
  • The 1150 from Norwich arrives at a rather murky Yarmouth Vauxhall on 18th February 1976.
